20001-2003 CalWater Delineation Workshop Series

The CalWater Delineation Workshop Series Has Been a Great Success. Thanks to everyone who have helped to organize the workshops, and to those who have been able to attend. We are accomplishing our goals, and are making plans for future workshops this year. Details are available at Watershed Delineation Workshops.

2001 ESRI User Conference Presentation

In July, David Hansen, of the Bureau of Reclamation, presented a paper "The Fuzziness of Framework Data Development at the Local Level" which mentions the Watershed Boundary Delineation and CalWater.

May-June 2001 - Regional Ecosystem Office (Portland, OR) Hosting Western States Delineation Workshop

The Regional Ecosystem Office (Portland, OR)  hosted a West Region Delineation Workshop , and the CalWater Committee was invited to participate, in Portland, Oregon - May 29 - June 1, 2001.  Notes on this workshop were recorded by Mark Reichert. Several CalWater members attended, and others participated by teleconference. We hope to hold similar workshops here in California over the next year.

June 7-8, 2000  - West Coast Regional HU Mapping Workshop

The workshop was hosted by USGS at Sacramento State University. Bob Pierce of USFS (Georgia), and Kenny Legleitner of NRCS (Ft. Worth, Texas) led the workshop for folks California, Oregon, Arizona and Nevada.

A lot of information was exchanged on new and improved Federal Geographic Data Committee (FGDC) guidelines, a new National Watershed Boundary Dataset (WBD), and other new complimentary datasets. Minutes of the Workshop are available for viewing and printing.

 March 2000 - MOU Officially Signed by all parties

The MOU has been signed by all 10 parties and is now available online.

November  20, 2002 The last full committee CalWater meeting was held November 20, 2002 in Davis, where participants discussed the accomplishments of the last year, review future goals, and discussed funding possibilities.

 
Friday, February 22, 2002 A full committee CalWater meeting was held February 22, 2002 in Davis, and gave participants a chance to try the "heads up" delineation method we are using in the workshops. See more pictures in the 02/22/02 Minutes.

 
Thursday, September 27, 2001 Meeting A CalWater meeting was held Thursday, September 27, 2001 from 1:00-4:00 at the USDA Service Center Building, in Davis, CA -- Room 125. The meeting was well attended, and set goals for this next year including plans for California Delineation Workshops.

Monday, May 14, 2001 - Teleconference Minutes Dale Guenther, of the REO (USFS, Portland) hosted a teleconference for the CalWater Committee on Monday, May 14th.
December 18, 2000 Meeting The next meeting of the Committee is scheduled for Monday, December 18, 2000 to discuss progress of the subcommittees established at the last meeting.

 First Workshop with NRCS and USGS National Staff present to explain WBD concept.
March 27, 2000 Meeting The first in over two years of the IWMC was held Monday, March 27, 2000.
